About me:

I am a  sports journalist/video producer with expertise in digital content creation and multimedia storytelling. I am skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro and proficient with professional-grade equipment for producing high-quality video content. I am committed, punctual, and dedicated to team success. Combining technical proficiency with a passion for sports culture and sports video games. Eager to contribute creativity and skills to enhance fan engagement through impactful digital content.

Writing

I fell in love with journalism while growing up. I used to read everything I could find about sports, regardless of the sport itself. Browsing through websites like Eurofootball.lt and Basketnews, and later on, The Athletic and ESPN, became a part of my daily routine. In 2019, I made the decision to pursue a career in sports journalism in the UK, and I enrolled at the University of Huddersfield.

After university I joined CNN as digital sports video intern - an opportunity I could not miss. Even though creating sports videos were a major part of my internship, I was given a green light to pitch, and if commissioned -  write my own features.

I am passionate about writing, which I consider to be one of my greatest strengths among the wide range of journalistic skills I possess. Whether it's creative writing or news writing, I aim to be as informative as possible while maintaining an engaging style. Crafting compelling stories and articles is a joy for me, as I believe in the power of words to inform, entertain, and inspire readers. I constantly strive to improve my writing abilities and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in journalism.

FUTURE NEW YORK KNICK: ROKAS JOKUBAITIS IS HERE TO TAKE OVER

January 9th, 2018. An ordinary day for some… but not for Rokas Jokubaitis.

The then 17-year-old scored 31 points for Žalgiris Kaunas youth team against Vytautas Prienai Birštonas, a team that made waves in the US sports media after signing LaMelo Ball, who now plays for the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA. At times, Lithuania’s basketball hope and the 3rd overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft went against each other, and Rokas looked like an adult playing a scrimmage against a kid who stepped on a ba

Knife crime offences in West Yorkshire more than doubled since 2012 as fewer offenders are caught, investigation reveals

Knife crime is one of the most common acts of crime and concerns in the UK in recent years. It is a concerning issue that will always grab headlines and calls for political figures to start taking action now because ‘it may be too late’.

Huddersfield in West Yorkshire has experienced a surge in knife crime offences on the streets, with the murder of 15-year-old Khayri Mclean in September 2022, together with many high-profile incidents in Leeds, shocking many people around the United Kingdom. Th

‘I told him he’ll enjoy it here’ – Warnock to prospective Huddersfield Town owner Kevin M. Nagle

Huddersfield Town head coach Neil Warnock took the chance to talk to the prospective new owner of the Terriers, Kevin M. Nagle, ahead of the Terriers’ final-day victory over relegated Reading 2-0.

The American investor, 68, had visited the John Smith’s stadium during the ultimate home game of Town’s Championship campaign, six weeks after agreeing to take over the West Yorkshire side from Dean Hoyle, with the purchase currently awaiting to be confirmed by relevant authorities.

Bayern Munich 74-65 Žalgiris Kaunas: Jaramaz’s career game leaves Žalgiris winless on road

11th January 2022 – Žalgiris Kaunas’ spirited 30-minute fight proved not enough as Bayern Munich, inspired by the career performance of Ognjen Jaramaz, secured a crucial home win against the Lithuanian side 74-65. This loss further extends Green-and-Whites’ hopeless run on the road as they lost all ten as the German giants began their chase for playoff spots.

Bayern Munich began the encounter more efficiently, establishing an early 11-5 lead mid-1st quarter but the efforts of Marek Blazevic and

The LeBron James' Curse Or Is Victor Wembanyama (Not) A Bust?

The best prospect since LeBron James’ introduction to the NBA in 2003. A mix between Kevin Durant and Rudy Gobert. That’s how Victor Wembanyama was introduced by many… until last Friday.

The 19-year-old disappointed in his much-anticipated NBA Summer League debut for the San Antonio Spurs, shooting an abysmal 2-13 from the field, scoring only 9 points against the Charlotte Hornets. And despite leaving the arena victorious, many fans labelled Wembanyama as a potential addition to the ‘bust’ cate

Meet the skydiver who flew in a wingsuit past the castle which inspired Walt Disney

An inspiration for Walt Disney’s imagination for the Sleeping Beauty castle, Germany’s Neuschwanstein Castle is a go-to tourist destination for around 1.4 million people per year.

But for professional skydiver Max Manow, it’s a landmark that has been ever-present in his life since childhood and a sight he remembers fondly growing up.

However, in September, Manow’s two worlds collided as the 34-year-old became the first person to detach from a paraglider mid-air and fly past Neuschwanstein Cast

Molly Carlson was in a ‘dark place’ prior to Rio Olympics. Now she is inspiring millions to talk about mental health

For most people, jumping off a platform which hangs 66-feet in the air from a cliff with just deep open water below is a terrifying prospect, but for high diver and influencer Molly Carlson it is a chance to be free. It is her time to fly.

For the self-described “professional athlete with anxiety,” these dizzying heights are where she feels most at peace. Cliff diving helped the 25-year-old recover from what she calls a “year from hell,” overcoming loneliness and a binge eating disorder. It is,

Shakhtar Donetsk: Serhii Palkin was running the biggest soccer club in Ukraine. After war broke out, his life changed forever

The noise of fighter jets zipping overhead is a sound that Serhii Palkin finds difficult to forget – even two years on.

Like every Ukrainian, the 49-year-old lived through the “nightmare” that unfolded as Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

While he scrambled to keep his young family safe amid the near constant bombardment, Palkin also had the responsibility of looking after Ukraine’s most successful soccer club, Shakhtar Donetsk.

You would never guess Palkin

News reporting

During my university news days, I worked on several TV stories for a sports program. I found great enjoyment in researching and crafting a script that would ensure a smooth and engaging storyline, taking viewers on a journey during the news report. I believe this approach is the most effective, as it ensures each story is interesting in its own unique way. Here are a few examples:

Video

After creating an athlete profile in a sports broadcasting module, I developed a keen interest in videography. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of researching, filming, interviewing, and editing. I aimed to improve my post-production skills to the best of my abilities. In October 2022, I reached out to the nearest professional basketball team, B. Braun Sheffield Sharks, with the hope of joining their media team. Fortunately, it worked out, and I had the opportunity to engage in what I loved doing during my time at the university. As my tenure progressed, I purchased a DSLR camera to capture highlight clips.

At CNN, I worked between two teams - digital sports and digital video news, where I found myself working with more longer-form content, as well as daily videos, with vertical content being a major focus for the company. I pushed for bigger focus on sports news while spending time with CNN's digital video news team, as CNN is renowned for breaking news. Videos I produced were published on CNN's website, social media platforms Instagram and Tik Tok, as well as various features were broadcasted live on CNN's flagship sports programme - CNN World Sport.

Radio

During university news days, radio was a major focus, as well as TV reporting. Some of my best pieces of work included clips from Huddersfield Town's head coach Neil Warnock's press conference at the final game of the 2022-23 Championship season against Reading. I also had a chat with former ESPN Bayern Munich reporter Mark Lovell about Jesse Marsch joining Leeds United. Additionally, I conducted an extended interview with boxing commentator Andy Clarke, where we previewed the IFB World Boxing Flyweight Championship bout between Sunny Edwards and Felix Alvarado. Radio was something that I grew to enjoy, as it helped me admire radio journalists a lot more, and I thoroughly enjoyed working in radio. Here are a few examples of my radio work:
